carlsvin Postat Iunie 22, 2021 Postat Iunie 22, 2021 I had picked up a set of Bolivar 18 speakers a few months ago , that need to be rebuilt but ive never done speakers before.... And i could find no place here in the U.S. that wanted to touch them. So i read up and watched videos and i gotter done... This was a short lived company out of Bolivar Tennessee U.S. and was started by a few guys that worked for and designed JBL speakers in the early to mid 1970's and they left JBL to form this company... Interesting story behind them for anyone to look up. They gave JBL a run for their money but for a cheaper price,, but were bought out 3 years later by Harmon because of them starting to hurt JBL sales numbers.. They had a saying for their speakers ( GREAT- For the price of Good ). Their models were Bolivar 64 (10 inch three way) Bolivar 18 (8 inch three way) and Bolivar 125 (two way) The numbers represent three highways that past near to where they were located. And im also in the middle of repairing a set of their 64 model.(hard to find) And boy do these baby's like to hit and play Low.. Some before and after pics of my Bolivar 18.... I even added the orange color accent to the tweeter foam. 2

carlsvin Postat Iunie 24, 2021 Autor Postat Iunie 24, 2021 Those inverted JBL dust cap that are glued to the cone were a pain to get off... as there must of been a whole 12mm width of glue used to apply it to cone, so it seems to be more than just a dust cap ...
